Tasks

A task is something a person does. Different jobs have different tasks. A teacher at a school has many tasks which are not the same as someone who is a cashier at a store. Can you think of some tasks teachers have to do?

Teachers have to plan what students are going to learn for the day. One big task teachers have to do every day is have a lesson plan for the day. Are students going to learn the ABCs? Are students going to learn about the weather? Are students going to learn to spell and write? Teachers also have to print papers off from the printers so students have something to look at when learning in the class. Printing, planning, and teaching are all tasks.

Chores - A chore is almost the same as a task. When I think about chores I think about things I do at home. I need to clean the living room, I need to clean the bedroom, I need to clean the kitchen, I need to wash the dishes, I need to go shopping. These are all tasks a person has to do.

In Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) there are many tasks a person working has to do. A person might have to help someone brush their teeth. A person in CFSS supports someone with the task of brushing their teeth.

What other tasks might a person working in CFSS have to do?

Going shopping, going to the bathroom, (toiletting), taking a shower, and other tasks a person has to do every day to feel good about themselves.
