Replace

 

This car is really old. The car does not work anymore. When something gets old or no longer works, it needs to 

be replaced.

I need to replace the broken plate. 

 The plate is broken. It needs to be replaced. When something is broken or cannot be fixed someone will need to buy a new one from the store. 

Sometimes the batteries in a smoke detector stop working and the batteries need to be replaced. If the batteries are no good the smoke alarm will not work when there is a fire. 

If replacing the batteries does not work and the smoke detector still does not work even when there are new batteries in the alarm, that means the smoke detector needs to be replaced. 

If a school has been around for many years, let's say a school has been around for 100 years and is one hundred years old. The programs in the school have been replaced. The classes in the year 1900 would not be the same as classes in the year 2000. Computers get old, the things people teach may no longer be good to teach or useful for students. The programs and the classes at the school need to be replaced. 

Personal Care Assistant is a program run by the state of Minnesota. It is an old program,

 and it needs to be changed. Like old batteries or a broken plate, the PCA program is being replaced by CFSS.
